Espacio Iberia Madrid
Connecting talent

Espacio Iberia opened its doors in Madrid for the fourth year running and, once more, brought together thousands of people attracted by musical, literary, culinary, sporting, artistic or photographic talent. The events promoted by Talento a bordo were attended by celebrities such as Valeria Castro, Sara Torres, Hugo Muñoz, Suso33 or Miss Beige, among many others. Find out more!
The Espacio Iberia experience came back to Madrid for the fourth time, after its run in Buenos Aires. Between the 21st of May and the 22nd of June, Serrería Belga, a space located in Paisaje de la Luz, hosted dozens of activities, as well as an exhibition summarizing the biggest milestones of the Talento a bordo initiative. Ranging from events that brought together Spain’s main public figures, which we’ll see below, to the recording of hit podcasts such as Felipe, Los Prieto Flores, Locura compartida or Arsénico caviar. Other highlights include the presentation of the new Iberia Talento a bordo Team or the presence of photographers Espe Pons, Rafael Trapiello and Yann Gross or the head of operations at Magnum Photos, Marine Mérindol, as part of PHotoESPAÑA 2025.
Food was also the main focus of some activities at Espacio Iberia. From a sensory journey through the history of coffee with Nolo Botana to destination tastings—Colombia, México, Puerto Rico, Argentina—or products such as anchovies, beer—including a beer drafting workshop—, wine or tequila. Visitors were also able to taste the menu Iberia serves onboard its planes and get to know the cabins of the next-generation A350, the business class seats on the new A321XLR and the historical evolution of the company’s uniforms. People could also experience to feel like a pilot for one day with a flight simulator, or make their dream of flying like a bird come true with the virtual reality Birdly. In addition, live programs were broadcasted, such as Hora 25 or Julia en la onda. There were also workshops for the whole family, like ceramics with Carlos Jiménez Cenamor or music innovation with the band Cabosanroque.
Next, let’s go over the main Talento a bordo events:
21st of May - Christina Rosenvinge. Spoken concert
Christina Rosenvinge, one of the most well-regarded figures in Spanish music, was the first guest at Espacio Iberia. During the event, moderated by journalist Raquel Peláez, the artist drew back the curtain on her songwriting process, sharing key ideas, reflections, secrets, inspirations and anecdotes, and then picking up her guitar to captivate the audience with a handful of songs.
22nd of May - Sara Torres. Writing beyond prejudice
Since the appearance of her novel Lo que hay on the literary scene in 2022, followed by La seducción in 2024, Sara Torres has turned into one of the loudest voices of her generation. This writer gave a literary workshop at Espacio Iberia during which, as well as revealing her own influences and techniques during her creative process, she invited attendees to face their prejudices, both while reading and writing
28th of May - Mafalda Cardenal. Spoken concert
Mafalda Cardenal, a young singer-songwriter from Alicante, has become one of the voices of generation Z thanks to songs like Tu fan with around 100 million streams on Spotify. Alongside Óscar García, she unravelled the keys to her recent debut album, Mis notas de voz, as well as playing some songs live in her honest, stripped back style at Espacio Iberia.
3rd of June - Coco Dávez. Blessed mistakes
Valeria Palmeiro, better known as Coco Dávez, is an essential artist to understand the evolution of illustration in Spain in the last decade. During her workshop held at Espacio Iberia, where she coached people on how to manage creative blocks, she defended mistakes as a fundamental part of the process, as well as inviting attendees to let go of the fear of straying from their initial plans.
3rd of June - Performative talk. Miss Beige comes out of the closet
The artist Ana Esmith spoke of the adventures and misfortunes of her greatest creation, Miss Beige, since its inception a decade ago to today, at Espacio Iberia. A character that slapped conventions, urging us to take a different perspective through comedy of manners, satire and fantasy. She also revealed the keys to Hay que saber estar, her exhibition at PHotoESPAÑA 2025.
7th of June - Alejandro Pelayo. Piano for kids
A family affair with Alejandro Pelayo, the composer behind the band Marlango, alongside actress Leonor Watling, at Espacio Iberia. With his inseparable piano in the centre of the room and surrounded by dozens of people, he pressed the right keys to make the youngest (and oldest!) members of the audience dance. Music understood as a game and an invitation to let your imagination run wild.
10th of June – Suso33. Paint in motion
Over time, Suso33 has become one of the greatest figures of urban art in Spain, and visitors to Espacio Iberia were able to see him in action. This artist created a mural live and shared the secrets behind his creative process with the audience. He also told us how graffiti became a form of expression for his creativity and defended recovering public spaces for citizens to use.
11th of June - Valeria Castro. Spoken concert
The very personal universe of Valeria Castro keeps charming new followers, as we saw at Espacio Iberia, where this singer-songwriter from the Canary Islands chatted to journalist Laura Piñero and played several songs. With her new album, El cuerpo después de todo, she has established herself on the national music scene. She has also been nominated twice in a row for the Goya Award for Best Song.
15th of June – Sacha Hormaechea and Hugo Muñoz cook their travels
Hugo Muñoz and Sacha Hormaechea, at the head of Ugo Chan and Sacha respectively, have earned a place on the map of Spanish gastronomy. Together, they have lived through thousands of culinary adventures, especially in Latin America, and they shared their incredible experiences at Espacio Iberia. Without fear of experimenting, they also prepared three recipes live for attendees to try.
18th of June – Lori Meyers. Acoustic meeting
Spanish indie music wouldn’t be the same without a band like Lori Meyers. Since it was founded in 1998, they have written anthems like Emborracharme, Mi realidad or Alta fidelidad. As a prelude to their concerts at Noches del Botánico, Antonio López ‘Noni,’ Alejandro Méndez and Alfredo Núñez came to Espacio Iberia to chat with journalist Ángel Carmona and move their fans with some acoustic songs.
19th of June – Rozalén. Musical event
One of the most well-loved figures on the national music scene, Rozalén, visited Espacio Iberia to chat to journalist Antonio Vicente. And she did so as a winner of the recent Premios de la Academia de Música [Music Academy Awards]. Together, they touched on the artist’s latest projects, from the success of her most recent album (El abrazo) to her role in a play paying homage to Chavela Vargas (La última chamana).
20th of June – World Universities Debating Championship in Spanish. Qualifying round
The Spanish University Debate League (LEDU) celebrated its 25th anniversary at Espacio Iberia, bringing together the most brilliant young speakers once more. The 30 finalists of this edition faced each other in a talk show where, as well as winning a golden ticket to the grand finale—which will be held in Vitoria on the 27th of September—, the Spanish representatives for the next World Universities Debating Championship were selected.
