The Spanish football team’s journey towards the next World Cup continues with the presentation of its new shirt. Excitement is flying higher than ever and Iberia decided to celebrate onboard one of its aeroplanes. The 352 passengers on the Madrid – Mexico City flight, where the opening game will be held, were the first to wear the excitement of an entire country.
The next World Cup will be held between the 11th of June and the 19th of July 2026 in the United States, Mexico and Canada, the first time it will be hosted in three different locations. If it qualifies, the Spanish national team will attend sporting a new kit, which was presented on the 6th of November by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and Adidas, the sports brand that has been dressing La Roja for more than three decades—the most successful in Spanish history—. Shortly after, Iberia, who sponsors the Spanish national team through its Talento a bordo initiative and is alongside the team during all its competitions, organized something very special aboard one of its aeroplanes.
The Madrid – Mexico City flight, leaving at 1:20 p.m. and landing at 6:40 p.m. (2:40 a.m. CET), was full of surprises. After stepping onboard, its 352 passengers found the new Spanish football shirt on their seats, an invitation to experience the excitement of the launch live, connecting with the values that bring together Iberia and the Spanish national team: hard work, passion and pride for their country. Only those who feel that La Roja is part of their roots can understand the value in being the first to wear it. They were also able to listen to a message by Luis de la Fuente inviting them to encourage his players, who will give their talent wings to conquer that second star. The Spanish coach, who has already added one European Championship and one UEFA Nations League to his track record, said farewell with “¡Vamos, España!” [Let’s go, Spain!].

During the presentation, content creator José Antonio Cacho (@cachoo01) shared the excitement and enthusiasm about the new shirt through Instagram stories. The crowning moment of his live coverage came when he shared the surprise awaiting passengers on that Iberia flight with his followers. Cachoo01 also revealed the shirt’s new features, which reinterpret our identity and tradition—with nods to the tournament’s history and paying homage to previous designs—through a modern and avant-garde aesthetic. At more than thirty-two thousand feet and on their way to Mexico, these passengers experienced an unforgettable launch. Yesterday, both an aeroplane and the excitement of a whole country took flight.
